| Description of the company
Perlas del Cortez, was founded in October 1999, with the objective

like the oyster, the lion hand scallop , the catarina scallop and
pearl oysters, motivated them to begin this commercial adventure.
Important antecedents made possible Perlas del Cortez, mainly the
researches of three Mexican institutions, The Center of Biological
Investigations of the Northwest (CIBNOR), the Technological Institute
of Monterrey where they started the experimental works on the cultivation
of pearl oysters, and began the first Mexican company that cultures
these species and finally the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California

All the research efforts added during more than 15 years, as well
as the Government's of Baja California Sur, Mexico resolved support,
made possible the beginning of activities of Perlas del Cortez.
At the moment the company produces half pearls or mabés
and shortly it will begin the harvest of free pearls. All the pieces
have a fundamental characteristic, the quality of the incomparable
mother pearl that has distinguished the native pearls from the Gulf
of California.
The Aquaculturists from Perlas del Cortez make their best effort
so the final product has the best quality, providing the necessary
cares in order that, after implanting the animals, they let the
